This week, I did not make it into the normal class I go to because I had to work so that was frustrating. However, I was still able to do fifteen minutes from the video I linked previously almost every day of the week and create little timelapses for each time. I am still really enjoying the yoga classes and I am trying a class today that i’ve done already, but this time it has a different instructor. I am still really drawn to Ashtanga, but the warm energy flow class I like because it’s still a flow class – lots of movement – but it also has a bit of a focus on flexibility which is one of the goals i’ve set during this inquiry project. It was also the first time we used yoga straps which I really liked, I found them very helpful for control. So far there are two classes that I really enjoy and hope to continue attending.
I’ve been reading from this website and getting some different poses and it includes the benefits of the different types of poses (standing, sitting, balance etc). It has a lot of different info which is super cool and helps to supplement some of the things I’ve learned during the classes – I’ve been doing Ashtanga – the website breaks down the class and explains the basis and fundamentals of ashtanga and why the flow is the way it is. It’s just super interesting to know.
I did a class that was really challenging. I had to modify every single movement but I still really enjoyed the class and enjoy the perspective of just modify the movement to something you can do and keep trying until you can actually follow along. A great example of a growth mindset.
